Navigating the Challenges of Corporate Reporting for Leasing Companies 

In June 2023, the EU co-legislators, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, reached a political agreement on the European Commission proposal for a Directive concerning financial services contracts concluded at a distance (DMFSD).

In April 2023, the European Commission launched a public consultation on a draft Taxonomy Delegated Regulation (DR) for the four remaining environmental objectives laid down in EU Taxonomy Regulation (in addition to climate change mitigation and climate change adaptation).

The EU Regulation on “the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing” (AML Regulation – AMLR) is under ongoing examination by the two EU co-legislators, the European Parliament (EP) and the Council of the EU.

Despite the recent agreement of the Data Act, which has been welcomed by our industry, the view of the broader mobility and aftermarket services industry continues to be that the Data Act does not sufficiently address the particularities of the automotive and mobility sector.

A preliminary agreed text of the co-legislators for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on harmonised rules on fair access to and use of data (Data Act) issued on the 30 June 2023. With the introduction of a Data Act, the European Commission hopes to establish a horizontal framework for the sharing of non-personal/ machine generated data by introducing obligations that give users access to the data they generate.
